Our Work Portfolio
Listed here are a few notable projects we have worked on, accompanied with a short description of what the project involved and what we did to make it a success.
AskTheGC
May 2007: AskTheGC.com offers homeowners and property developers the chance to determine whether they are being ripped off or overcharged for their contractor's work. A user can ask the general contractor a question for as little as $1 USD and it will be answered to them by email.
We were chosen by Alec Rust, the main contractor of the project, to implement the actual question-answer system into the website using PayPal and to write a simple contact form for all issues not concerning building work.
UK Government E-Newsletter
February 2007: Once again, Alcatomic was chosen by Alec Rust to redesign an e-newsletter for the government in as much CSS as possible. Making e-newsletters compatible with all email platforms can sometimes be a tedious job, but Alcatomic made sure that the e-newsletter was made as accessible as possible to everybody on the mailing list, regardless of how they chose to read their email.
Complaints Delivered
March 2007: Alcatomic was asked to design a user interface and the backend for Complaints Delivered.com. While Will handled the front end, involving CSS and graphic design, Ed dealt with the backend and implemented it using object oriented PHP and MySQL to aid code organization, robustness and rapid development. Allowing users to submit, read, contribute and track complaints through a website forecast to explode with growth on release, Alcatomic got the job done.
Freeze FM SMS System
April 2007: Using the PHP API from txtlocal.com, Will from Alcatomic implemented an easy to use interface with which to read, delete and reply to texts for the London radio station Freeze FM. The system is used in the Freeze FM studio while DJs are on air to interact with the radio station's growing listener base.
Digi Magic
March 2006: Alcatomic was asked to propose and implement a simple e-commerce strategy onto the special events and functions filming site, Digi Magic.co.uk. Using PayPal's payment gateway, a system was written for a user to book an appointment, check the availability of that appointment, and, if available, to lay down a £50 GBP deposit. An administration panel was then written for the staff of Digi Magic to look at upcoming occasions and to contact their client with the details they provided when they made the appointment.
